Q.

A game I just bought says it needs more EMS memory but doesn't tell me how to do this, can you help. I have an P120 with 24 Mb Ram (EDO) and Windows 98 (but the game runs in MS-DOS only mode). I am only a beginner so please give answer in plain English.

Ok here's what to do, Make a boot disk by going to dos and type Format A: /S and it will ask for a disk, put the disk in your floppy disk drive. Once this has finished it will ask you if you want to format an other type N. Then once you see C:\> type A: and you should see the C:\> change to a A:\> then type Edit Config.sys once you have done this a blue screen should come up at the next line type Device=C:\Windows\emm386.exe then go to the file menu and click save. Then goto the File menu and click exit. you should be back to DOS so keep the floppy disk in and restart your computer now you should have once the computer starts type C:\> and you will be back to the hard disk.

What is probably wrong is that you deleted the dial-up-network connection try making a new connection by going into My computer then double click dial-up networking then click make new connection then a wizard comes up type the name Freeserve NOTE THIS IS CASE SENSITIVE then click Next it will then ask for a telephone number type 0796699 after 0845 then click finish that should be you.
